Dreaming of a future…
This image made me first go to the imagination and wonder we all have moments of. We sit and just wonder about life, our goals, our friends … (if you don’t then maybe we need to work on moments of how to have moments of silence as that is not healthy). Then we can have moments where we see this image and then feel sad as we don’t think we could ever have or see that image. We get stuck. We get stuck by what society tells us. We get stuck by our own limiting beliefs. We get stuck from a lack of a good supportive system of people. These are all barriers. Have you ever had one? Then we get stuck and move on our just keep it a dream. Sadly here is what I know about the human species:
“We don’t know what we don’t know. We also don’t do what we know to do”
So, the first part can be confusing. My idea is that it leans toward the fact that we don’t know everything about ourselves and what influences us. If we don’t know then we can’t fix it or fight it. So, step one is becoming aware of the barrier within and around us. How? Moments of silence and journaling helps as it allows your brain to process and review things and patterns. Journaling creates the opportunity to look at your life from the observers view. You can also review over a time period that most of us forgets. I mean how many times have we forgotten what we wore yesterday let alone how we felt or our thoughts that go through it.
Now re-read the second sentence and sit on it …….
How many times have we known how food affects our organs, skin and feelings? (by the way your brain is an organ)
How many times have we known that simply walking around my office or wondering around helps our organs and feelings?
How long have we known that we leave a conversation with a certain someone always feeling worse or energy lower?
And yet…. we don’t do any of those things and we keep doing what hurts us. Now our bodies are built for habit. This allows our brain to have more power when in crisis. Our brains spend too much time on auto mode. And yet I also know the formula to change that habit so then we forget why we weren’t walking every day or we remember how it felt to do it so we restart. The more times you push (54321.. walk) to do the new habit the less time it will take for it to become a habit.
