Do You Feel Trapped?
Winter can be difficult for many of us. The things that bring us enjoyment are not available … green plants, flowers, warm sunlight, warm or wet grass and more. Many of us look at being stuck in our homes and resting as depressing. However, there is many things we can do. Yes sadly, it may take effort that we think we don’t have. I know that these things are worth it especially when it turns into a habit and new belief and view of how it could be.
Did you know in other countries being inside due to weather is odd? Many countries have weather that is rainy or sometimes cold a lot of the year. They are seen outside and enjoying it. There are different sayings for bundling up and being outside. Who decided that rain and clouds equals gloom? We all know if we bundle up we are better once we move around and get out there.
Also, when did cozying up to a moving and taking a “rest” time of the year equal depressing? Yes, yes we hear messages of isolating and staying inside being warning signs for depression. And yet, I we can enjoy the winter and shorter days as a time to recharge and plan for the next season. It’s all about perception (our way of looking at things).
I ask you. Take a moment to rethink and relook at the scene in front of you. Find a way to change it to change the feeling. Find a way to make yourself try it. Find the opportunity.
